In 1970 Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA with the purpose of keeping workers safe in the workplace. Fifty years later there has been a 62 percent decrease in work related fatalities and 42 percent decrease in illness. This decrease can be attributed to OSHA’s commitment to safety training, educational resources, and accident prevention.
CPR of America is proud to offer OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and HIPPA courses throughout Massachusetts. These classes can be held at your facility or at our Boston, Walpole, or Worcester locations. Our group of experienced OSHA instructors will guide you through the OSHA guidelines and make sure that each student feels comfortable with the material.
OSHA 10 requires a fairly strict selection of topics which include
The first seven hours include
· Intro to OSHA,
· Walking/working surfaces,
· Emergency Action Plans/Fire protection,
· electrical safety,
· Personal Protective Equipment or PPE
· Hazard communication
Then 2-hours of electives (chosen among a list of topics that make sense for your business/industry)
· Hazardous Materials
· Materials Handling
· Machine Guarding
· Industrial Hygiene
· Bloodborne Pathogens
· Ergonomics
· Safety and Health Programs
· Fall Protection
The Final hour of the course can be tailored specifically to your needs and industry.
